Safety First

At Mlaker Transportation we take the safety of our passenger very seriously. Safety first is not a slogan at Mlaker, it is the way we have succeeded in being one of the countries safest bus companies. We take great pride in proving our customers with the safest, most reliable bus transportation. Before we send one of our buses out on a trip, we thoroughly inspect each and every bus, to ensure that our buses are performing at their top performance.

Traveling by bus is one of the safest forms of public transportation, but before you book your next bus trip be sure to check your bus companies safety rating, to insure you are traveling with a safe company.  

We are proud to announce that Mlaker Transportation is a certified United States Department of Defense (U.S. DOD) safety-certified passenger transport (motor coach) company. Our company has passed various safety inspections to achieve this highest safety qualification. These certifications require that we conduct documented preventative maintenance on our coaches, providing on-going and documented driver training, and requiring that all drivers' participate in a federally mandated Drug & Alcohol testing Program. 

There are less than 400 out of the 6000 bus companies in the United States that are DOD, safety certified. Mlaker Charter and Tours is the only DOD, Approved bus carrier from Pittsburgh to State College. Hours of service of drivers

§ 395.5Maximum driving time for passenger-carrying vehicles. Subject to the exceptions and exemptions in §395.1:

(a) No motor carrier shall permit or require any driver used by it to drive a passenger-carrying commercial motor vehicle, nor shall any such driver drive a passenger-carrying commercial motor vehicle:(1) More than 10 hours following 8 consecutive hours off duty; or(2) For any period after having been on duty 15 hours following 8 consecutive hours off duty.(b) No motor carrier shall permit or require a driver of a passenger-carrying commercial motor vehicle to drive, nor shall any driver drive a passenger-carrying commercial motor vehicle, regardless of the number of motor carriers using the driver's services, for any period after—(1) Having been on duty 60 hours in any 7 consecutive days if the employing motor carrier does not operate commercial motor vehicles every day of the week; or(2) Having been on duty 70 hours in any period of 8 consecutive days if the employing motor carrier operates commercial motor vehicles every day of the week.[70 FR 50073, Aug. 25, 2005]
