This bus is in support of my aunt, Becky, as she battles breast cancer. It is also in memory of my grandmother Jackie and for all women who are affected by breast cancer. My aunt was diagnosed with stage-four breast cancer this October, so we decided to dedicate this bus to support her and all of those who are fighting cancer of any kind. We all know someone who has been affected by this disease and how overwhelming it can be.
In an effort to make a difference, to encourage, and support those fighting cancer, Mlaker Transportation is pledging to donate $0.05 per mile that our Hope for a Cure bus travels to local people battling cancer and the local cancer support organizations.
What can you do to help?
You can show your support by simply riding our pink bus. Any group who books the bus and donates any amount of money will be given a discount of the amount donated up to $100. Please make checks payable to Mlaker Transportation and write support in the memo section. All proceeds will be donated to local cancer support groups.
Raise Awareness and support.
According to the National Breast Cancer Foundation, 1 in 8 women will be diagnosed with breast cancer in their lives, equaling 220,000 women each year being diagnosed. There is hope. Out of the 222,000 women diagnosed, as many as 140,000 will survive, but all these women need your love and support. 89% of women are expected to live over 5 years after diagnosis, but this is not good enough. We need to do what we can to support cancer research to raise the survival rate. The best way to protect yourself and your loved ones is with screenings and early detection for all types of cancer. Let’s raise awareness, support, and encourage the women in our lives to have regular screenings!
A special thanks to the Conemaugh Township Volunteer Fire Department, Britton, Melissa, Len, and Jeff.
Together we can make a difference and defeat cancer!!!
Thank you for your support.
