According to the National Breast Cancer Foundation, 1 in 8 women will be diagnosed with breast cancer in their lives – some 220,000 women each year. But there is hope. Out of the 222,000 women diagnosed, as many as 140,000 will survive, but all these women need your love and support.
The Mlaker family, like so many families, is deeply affected by breast cancer. My aunt, Becky, is currently battling stage 4 breast cancer, and this bus is in honor of her. It is also in memory of my grandmother, Jackie, and to honor and support all women who are affected by breast cancer. We all know someone who has been affected by this disease and how overwhelming it can be.
What can you do to help?
Today, 89% of women are expected to live over 5 years after diagnosis, but this is not good enough. That’s why Mlaker Transportation supports breast cancer charities as these organizations work to improve detection, refine treatments, and raise the survival rate.
We hope for a cure someday, but in the meantime, the best way to protect yourself and your loved ones is with screenings and early detection for all types of cancer. Let’s raise awareness, support, and encourage the women in our lives to have regular screenings!
Together we can make a difference in the effort to defeat cancer!
Thank you for your support.
